Thomas Jin-Hong Lin 林金洪

Thomas Jin Hong Lin: Chinese Medicine Doctor (Acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, Chinese massage therapist), Director of TCM Development Ltd.

 

Thomas born in 1967, and brought up from a countryside of China, his Grand-father and father was family TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) doctors (practice for family) in the village. When Thomas was a child, he follow his father learn to pick raw herbs in the mountain, his dream was to become a doctor one day.

 

Thomas graduated as bachelor degree of medicine after 5 years full time training in Guangzhou Medical university of China, after then he taught in Anatomy department and worked in the clinic of the university.

 

Thomas moved to New Zealand in 1994, he worked as an Acupuncturist in Palmerston North in the early two years. He passed the whole day’s examination to be register of NZ Acupuncturist in 1996, and being ACC treatment provider.

 

Thomas registered his first company, TCM Development Ltd in 1996, TCM Chinese Medical Centre was established in Christchurch on the 8th of November 1996 in Madras Street in city centre.  Now TCM Chinese Medical Centre has been moved on to Riccarton Road since 1998. He also has been successful setup TCM service for Queespark Health Care and St Albans Medical Centre. There are about 10000 patients file holds in TCM Chinese Medical Centre, over 200 GP referred their patients to received treatment from TCM Chinese Medical Centre.  Over 10 Acupuncturists have been worked or received training with Thomas in their early step in NZ.

Thomas is involved as the southern representative of NZRA (NZ register of Acupuncturists Inc.) and executive member of NZRA, he is an independent advisor for Health and Disability Commissioner. He used to be the council member and southern representative of the NZ Federation of Chinese Medical Science Inc.

 

Thomas has been involved for Chinese community; he used to be the president of Christchurch Zhonghua Chinese Society for 2 years. Thomas was invited for many functions by NZ parliament and Embassy of China, he were taken photo with Prime Minister Helen Clark and President of China Hu Jin Tao. He is the overseas youth committee member of Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese of Hubei, he also is committee member of the Overseas Exchange Association of Guangdong province. Thomas Jin Hong Lin, his name has been list in the World Outstanding Chinese Yearbook 2003.   

 

Thomas has got opportunity to provide treatment with movie star Jackie Chan in 1992.

Over 100 private students have been training for Chinese acupressure, Chinese massage, manipulation, and Reflexology by Thomas Lin in China.  Guangdong province TV has produced 21 sessions of Reflexology programmer introducing by Thomas Lin in 1992. Thomas conducted  many presentations of Chinese Medicine Healthcare to local communities in Christchurch.

Mr Zhi Wei Brian Ou Yang, Mr Xin Hong Lai, Prof. Li shan Gao, Ms Zhi Xiong Lin are Thomas’ mainly master teachers of special medical technicians.

  

Thomas Lin specializes in:

Acupuncture/acupressure/manipulation/traction/cupping for Musculoskeletal problems (headache cause by stiff neck, shoulder pain from injury or freezing shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal Tunnel syndrome, muscle sprain on back or spine disorder, sciatica…), consult for all kinds of sports and work injuries.
